X were founded in 1978 in Sydney, at a time when Australian punk rock was red-hot. The band had a fierce reputation for their live performances, with extraordinary musicianship partnered with an intensity few bands could get close to.

X released a number of critically acclaimed albums, from ‘X-Aspirations’ to ‘At Home with You’, the latter of which stayed in the Top 20 indie charts for nearly 3-years.

 

The band released a further 3 albums (as compilations), along with a couple of EP's. Their recordings were always defined by the songwriting skills of Steve Lucas and Ian Rilen, the big bass of Rilen, the slash and attack guitar sound of Lucas and his distinctive, brutal vocals.

 

X are one of Australia’s seminal punk rock bands, with an exceptional body of work, all of which has been released digitally through Laneway Music and is available on iTunes, and select titles on Spotify.

Steve Lucas has continued on with a  range of solo material, also available on digital platforms worldwide.
