Lez Karski

Lez Karski was 29 years old when he started working as a record producer and session musician in Sydney and Melbourne, and the list of artists he has worked with is impressive.

 

Flash and The Pan, The Models, Nick Cave, Delilah, Tommy Emanuel, The Elks, The Triffids, Angus Young, Yothu Yindi and many others.

 

Lez produced Midnight Oil’s ‘Head Injuries’ and 'Bird Noises', and produced four albums with v Spy v Spy including the breakthrough hit 'AO Mod TV Version'.

Lez also performed in a number of Sydney rhythm & blues outfits, ‘The Willies’, ‘The Magnetics’, and ‘The Hippos’. The latter achieved cult status in Sydney released two albums, and achieving an ARIA nomination in 1988 for the song 'Dark Age'.

 

Lez and his Perth band, 'The Nervous Investors' appear regularly at the Perth Blues Club and selected gigs. An EP recorded with Midnight Oil drummer Rob Hirst and Bondi Cigars bassist Al Britton as 'The Powerful Owls' is due for release later this year with gigs to follow.

Much of Lez' extensive catalogue will be released through Laneway in November 2017.
