Chris Turner
Chris Turner started playing guitar in London in 1961, playing on the same bill with artists like Bowie, Frampton, The Small Faces, Manfred Mann amongst others.
He then moved to New Zealand playing around Auckland and the North Island for a number of years prior to settling in Sydney in 1970. After an ill-fated tour of Asia, Chris formed his own band 'Drain', playing the Sydney hard rock clubs, and subsequently joined the iconic rock outfit Buffalo, for the fifth album, and on their Australian tour with Richie Blackmore's Rainbow.
Through the late 70's Chris continued to play with his Chris Turner band, taking time to play with Rose Tattoo, Frankie J Holden & Stevie Wright.
In 1983 Chris teamed up with the La De Da's Ronnie Peel (Rockwell T James) to form the Scattered Aces, who released a critically acclaimed EP.
Laneway Music is pleased to be making Chris' music available digitally, in some cases for the first time ever.
