Argus were a local Melbourne band, comprising of mates who had been to school together and formed the traditional garage band at home. Before long they were gigging all over Melbourne.

The core of the band was Fabio Versace (Vocals/Drums), Peter Cook (Guitar) and Joe Maestro (Bass). They worked as a three piece band and during their life experimented with various singers to make it a four piece band. The recordings now put out through Laneway show them experimenting with a front man with a very Geddy Lee vocal.

Remember these boys were around 18 years old and were trying to find their sound. They later went on to form Stealer which shows their progression, and then tour nationally.
