Vanilla Chainsaws formed in Sydney in 1986, and signed to Phantom, who released their debut single T.S. (Was It Really Me) a year later.

The band was formed by singer Simon Drew and guitarist Mark Alexander, and toured the world, however struggled with lineup, label and management issues.

The band disbanded in 1995, in the eyes of many a premature exit from the music industry.

Notwithstanding that, the band recorded and released some spectacular, melodic rock music which holds up to this day, and Laneway is proud to release digitally.
