Mother Goose
Mother Goose formed in Dunedin, New Zealand in September 1975. After 10 months touring NZ, the band moved to Australia in late 1976.
Renowned for their high-energy, madcap stage show combined with exceptional musicianship, Mother Goose built up a huge following in Australia, and broke live attendance records across Australasia.
Consequently, the band was signed to Mushroom Records in 1977. Their first single ‘Baked Beans’ was a big hit, and their debut album ‘Stuffed’ in 1977 received critical acclaim.
After a 9 month stint in the USA in 1978, the band returned to Australia in early 1979. They continued touring for the next 6 years (including a Canadian tour in 1984), and released 2 more albums: ‘Don't Believe in Fairytales’ (1979) and ‘This is the Life’ (1982). The most recent release for Mother Goose is the fourth, never previously released recordings, from 1984 called 'Lost Songs'.
